Frequently Asked Questions
What is a QR code?
A QR (Quick Response) code is a two-dimensional barcode that can be scanned using a smartphone camera or QR code reader to quickly access information, websites, contact details, and more.
Is Qrelly really free?
Yes! Qrelly is completely free with no hidden costs, subscription fees, or premium tiers. All features are available to everyone at no charge.
Do I need to create an account?
No account is required. You can start creating QR codes immediately without signing up or providing any personal information.
What types of QR codes can I create?
Qrelly supports 21 different QR code types including URLs, WiFi credentials, vCards, WhatsApp, Telegram, Discord, Instagram, YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, TikTok, PDFs, images, documents, GPS locations, calendar events, email, SMS, phone numbers, and plain text.
Can I customize the colors of my QR code?
Yes! You can choose custom foreground and background colors for your QR codes, or select from our pre-designed style presets including Classic, Purple, Sunset, Ocean, Mint, and Warm.
What formats can I download my QR codes in?
You can download your QR codes in PNG (raster) or SVG (vector) format. PNG is great for web use and printing at fixed sizes, while SVG maintains perfect quality at any scale.
Do QR codes expire?
QR codes generated with Qrelly never expire. They are static codes that will work forever as long as the content they link to remains available.
How do I scan a QR code?
Most modern smartphones can scan QR codes directly through their camera app. Simply open your camera, point it at the QR code, and tap the notification that appears. You can also use dedicated QR code scanner apps.
Is my data secure?
Yes. All QR code generation happens directly in your browser. We don't store, track, or transmit your data to our servers. Your information remains completely private.
Can I use Qrelly for commercial purposes?
Absolutely! You're free to use Qrelly-generated QR codes for any purpose, including commercial applications, without any restrictions or attribution requirements.
Why isn't my QR code scanning?
Make sure the QR code is clearly visible, well-lit, and not distorted. If you've customized colors, ensure there's sufficient contrast between the foreground and background. Very light or very similar colors may cause scanning issues.
Can I track how many times my QR code is scanned?
Qrelly generates static QR codes that cannot be tracked. For tracking capabilities, you would need to use a URL shortening service with analytics and create a QR code pointing to that shortened URL.
